For German American populations, such as Pennsylvania Dutch Country, it is known as Fasnacht Day (also spelled Fausnacht, Fauschnaut, or Fosnacht). The Fastnacht is made from fried potato dough and served with dark corn syrup. Georgie celebrates with beads, a party collar, and an uncooperative mask that keep sliding over her eyes.

The Bark on Main's co-founder, Georgie, wanted to share a glimpse of her ruff life. Georgie's leisure time is spent seeking empty laps, finding treats and waiting for the magic words...leash, car and ride. A dog's life can be pawsitively exhausting.

Yesterday marked 5 years since Mattie joined our family and what better way to celebrate than to create a blog for TBOM. A few of Mattie's 5 yr highlights: peeing in the doggie pool when she thought no one was watching, finding real toys in the rabbit nest (then having mommy chase her screaming "drop the baby bunny"), eating dryer sheets, and most recently, removing her bootie (and chewing on it...see above) from her recently operated paw. There are many more moments but those always seem to bring a smile to my face.
